Thank You Coasters

I love Disneyland; I may as well be an 8 year old girl, begging her parents to take her to see Cinderella. It's not quite that bad but ever since the new Cars Land opened at California Adventure I have been wanting to go see it and check out the new Cars ride.

My husband and I were lucky enough to go to Southern California earlier this year on vacation and so we got to go to Disneyland and California Adventure! I highly recommend Cars Land, which is especially cool at night when all the neon lights are on. If you are going soon, I also recommend the 'World of Color' show that plays each night at California Adventure and is similar to Fantasmic! It plays over the lake at California Adventure at night and is very entertaining.

While we were there we also got to go to the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Safari Park and Seaworld. I loved them all! If you haven't seen the Shamu killer whale show at Seaworld, it is extremely fun. Although, the most unique show my husband and I got to watch was the Cheetah Run at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. They let a cheetah (the fastest land mammal) run at full speed for 100 yards and it is AMAZING. I have never seen anything quite like it! Definitely go if you get the chance.

While we were lucky enough to go to Southern California and go to a lot of theme parks, we were also trying to keep costs down when possible. We were very grateful for friends and family who live near Disneyland and in San Diego who offered to let us stay with them while we were on vacation.

I wanted to do something to say 'thank you' to the two families who let us stay with them and so I decided to make coasters for them as a thank you gift. Both families loved them! They were a big hit. One family was even going to buy new coasters soon because theirs had broken, it was perfect timing. I recommend them for any thank you gift, or housewarming gift.

I got the tutorial on how to make these coasters from The Cottage Mama. Check it out and make some for yourself! I made 12 sets of 4 coasters and have them on hand for thank you gifts and housewarming gifts, or even birthday or Christmas gifts.
